When you have two toddlers' milestones to keep track of, you can forget and lose track very quickly. While I have tried to keep their baby books up to date with the month to months and major firsts, I recently had to put in a LARGE photo order to update those month to month photos as well as holiday photos from the last year. So, to keep up on the documentation...here are the current stats on the girls.
Parker (weighed in at 19lbs 14oz at her last visit a week ago). She is talking up a STORM and is now using walking as her main mode of transportation. She still crawls a lot when she is in a hurry though (which can be often given her spunk and desire to move). Her current repoitoire of words includes:
"hi"
"bye"
"dada"
"dad"
"mom"
"mama"
"dog"
"doggie"
"ball"
"e-i-e-i" (as in Old MacDonald...she sings this one)
She also repeats most words (or attempts to) when we say them and is making animal sounds when she feels like it. She is trying to say "kitty" and "sissy" as well now too. She is also speaking in 2 word sentences and puts words together on her own. She says things like "hi doggie" while she waves to Kenzie and "hi dada" when she plays telephone.
She can identify mom, dad, sister and baby in a photograph as well as animals and objects in books. She can also identify body parts (eye, nose, foot and belly button) and can say "eye" when she pokes-- I mean points-- to your eye. If you ask her where her belly button is, she pulls up her round belly and pokes her button and giggles. HA HA!!! She is also trying to dress herself here and there by putting her shirt on her head (but can't get it over her head) and putting socks and shoes on her feet (but can't get them on). She can, however, get her pants OFF! Nice. Duct tape here we come!
Socially, she is usually pretty easy going and waves "hi" to everyone, but is definitely going thru a serious attachment phase. Even Jason can't console her if she wakes up at night and if I leave the room (say to go to the bathroom), the moment my foot is over that baby gate a meltdown follows.
Speaking of meltdowns, Parker is staying true to her "power house" name and is extremely strong willed and defiant. She is starting tantrums already in a BIG way. Watch out world! I am using the redirection, stern "no!" and a swat to the hand right now but I did attempt a 60 second time out once. HA HA! What a joke! What on earth are you supposed to do with 2 14 month olds to instill rules and boundaries now so that when they are 2 and 3, we don't have total hell children? I will not tolerate complete disobedience and mayhem. The girls will have rules and respect no matter what so Jason and I need to come up wiht a plan soon! Little Parker is testing us daily, if not hourly!
But we love her to bits and pieces!
Addisen's milestones coming tomorrow!
