Easter Sunday

I finally had a chance to sort through the images from yesterday's Easter 'Egg'-stravaganza and choose a few to share.

On Saturday we went to church for the children's Easter carnival & egg hunt. Because I had my hands so full, I did not use my camera for photos. I am waiting on some from Jason's mom and sister. Stay tuned for those!

Yesterday we went to my family's Easter picnic that we have held every year since my mom was a little girl. Overall, we usually have 50 people and this year was a really nice time. In years past, it became more of a neighborhood party and less family was coming. This year, we had ALL family and a few close friends. The children who used to hunt eggs are now grown or in highschool and we had a whole new generation of egg hunters this year! It was really amazing. My great grandma was there (she is 92) and at one point, we had all 5 generations sitting all in a row. How neat?!

Sunday morning began with us waking up to Addisen sans pants and diaper with a wet bed (again). We got everyone dry, milk sippys and then opened the girls baskets. We got them coloring books, bracelets, new sippy cups (with Minnie Mouse- their FAVE), chocolate farm animals, plastic eggs with fruit snacks inside, new summer tops, bunnies, suckers, etc...they tore through them in lightening speed! Jason took them in their room for a tea party and I hid eggs throughout the living and dining rooms (the grass was still too wet). They had a BLAST gathering their eggs all morning long. Its very serious business- egg hunting. We had a nice big omlet breakfast and all packed up for my mom's house. My mom spoiled the girls as usual with markers (washable of course), new clothes, HUGE bunnies, new shoes, sunglasses, toys, candy and more!

They did not nap all day (not one wink) from 8AM til 4:30PM but when they did fall asleep in the car, they were out and not to be seen again til morning. Addisen played so hard that she did not wake up for a snack, milk, dinner, PJs...nothing. She did get a bath at my mom's on our way home and I woke her at 8:30 for Pj's and a fresh diaper but she wanted right back down and she slept til 8:00 AM!!!! WOW! Baby girl was sleeeeepy! ;)
